Our method
How we check the information on this site
For buyers who want to know how much to trust what they read here.
Every capability, integration and payments rule on this site points back to a source, and every sourced page shows when it was last reviewed.
The short answer
Platform capabilities come from each vendor’s own published material, never review or reseller sites. Each one is labelled confirmed, a specialist verifies, or not found yet — and not found never means unsupported. Information on 11 platforms is reviewed about every 90 days, and pages show their last review date.
Last reviewed · How we check
Where product information comes from
Capabilities shown for each platform come from the vendor’s own published material: product pages, help centers and official app directories. Review sites, reseller pages and forum posts are not used as evidence.
Each capability is shown in one of three ways.
- Confirmed — the vendor’s own material describes it.
- A specialist verifies — it depends on plan, add-on, hardware or setup, so we confirm it for your business.
- Not found yet — we have not found it in official sources. That is not the same as “not supported”.
Why some features always need a specialist
Fuel pump control, EBT and SNAP, eWIC, tobacco scan data and lottery depend on your state, your processor, your hardware and sometimes your fuel brand. We never mark these as supported by a platform until we have checked them for your location.
How integrations are listed
An app appears under a platform only when the platform’s own pages name it. Integrations change often, and official directories list far more than we summarize, so a missing app means “not found in our research yet” — ask us and we check.
Review dates
Pages with sourced information show when they were last reviewed. Product information is reviewed about every 90 days, buyer guides about every six months, and regional guides at least once a year — the hurricane guide before each season.
Product information changes. If something you read here differs from what a vendor tells you, the vendor’s current terms apply — and we would like to know.
Payments and compliance information
Information about card pricing programs, surcharging and card-brand rules is drawn from card-brand publications, statutes and government sources, and is reviewed on a schedule. It is general information, not legal or tax advice; your processor’s written requirements and your own adviser decide what applies to you.
How results are ordered
The comparison tool groups platforms by how well they match what you selected, then lists them alphabetically. In the POS Finder, capability comes first: a platform missing something you need is never recommended.
